Commemorative Seal of 1st Day of issue

It is a postal mark with defined period of use destined to make stamps launching official.


Characteristics

- Matrix fabricated in metal; - The official color is black; - Printed image and text are produced on a 32 milimeters diameter circular basis; - High philatelic value; - Documents history, and important dates and events; - Places stamps issue in time and space; -Personalizes correspondences stamping.  

When postage seal launching is associated to a stamp, the seal is of 1st Day of issue. When postage seal is not associated to a stamp, the postage seal is Postal Commemorative.

Letter: Letter set shape 1620 or similar that is perfectly legible after reduction.

Themes: Since the 1st Day of issue postage seal purpose is to make official the launching of stamps, themes approached in it are the same as those stamps to which the launching is associated.

Who can suggest themes?

After stamp inclusion in Annual Philatelic Programming (link to - http://blog.correios.com.br/filatelia/emissoes/programacao-filatelica-2014), issue of 1st Day of issue postage seal is automatic.

How it works:

To whom request: Since issue of 1st Day of issue postage seal is automatic, after approvaal from seals annual program, the request to issue this type of seal is not required.

How much: Since it is a necessary element in stamp official launching, 1st Day of issue postage seal production onus is assumed by Correios.

Recommendations and restrictions

When postage seal launching is associated to a stamp, the seal is of 1st Day of issue. When postage seal is not associated to a stamp, the postage seal is Postal Commemorative.
